Welcome and syllabus

Dear Students,

Welcome to HU Introduction to Philosophy!  Our class will be conducted on this site (for the most part).  You will email me your reading reviews (even if you are the discussion leader for the day), your paper, and your final, but everything else will take place right here.  The discussion leader will post his/her entry for the day here, with 2 or more questions for you to consider, and you will all comment on either the post, the questions, or each other twice (each comment must be 100 words or more).  I will post the video lectures here and other info.

Video Lecture: RMR Intro and Interview #1

If relativism is true, then all belief systems, ideologies, etc are of equal value. 2. If all belief systems are of equal value, then everyone is permitted to make up their own belief system and get others to buy into it in any way they want to. 3. Hence, if relativism is true, then everyone is permitted to make up their own belief system and get others to buy into it in any way they want to. The other arguments I will present should be written like the above and you should ensure that you understand them well.
